"Grand Junction ranked in the top 10 percent of all metropolitan areas in the U.S. in regional economic prosperity, according to a recent report.
The Grand Junction metro area, which also includes Fruita, Palisade and unincorporated urban areas of Mesa County, ranked 34th out of 345 metropolitan statistical areas in the 2008 Aelera Regional Economic Prosperity Index. The index ranks MSAs as a way to allow communities to evaluate and compare economic performance."
